Contract Drafting
At Construct Law Group, we have experience in reviewing and advising clients on the risks associated with most standard form commercial contracts (including Australian Standards (AS), Australian Building Industry Contracts (ABIC) and Queensland Master Builders Association (QMBA)).
We draft amendments and special conditions to standard form contracts in order to adequately protect our clients from the risk associated with commercial building projects.
Having extensive litigation experience provides our lawyers with the ability to identify common contract administration problems and to ensure that the risk can be shifted where possible.
We have drafted contracts for many of our commercial clients specific to the nature of their business or development.
When drafting amendments we ensure that the contracts are compliant with relevant legislation including the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 (Qld), Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 (Qld) and the Personal Properties and Securities Act 2009 (Cth).
Contract Administration
We also have experience in assisting clients in administering their commercial building contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms in respect of progress and variation claims, delay damages, liquidated damages and claims for return of security.
