Role Description
This is a full-time or part-time role for a Lawyer, Associate or Senior Associate at CLG. This role is primarily located in Brisbane, QLD, with flexibility for remote work. We embrace flexible work practices and we are open to applications from lawyers seeking a part-time role.
The Lawyer will be responsible for assisting CLG’s experienced team of senior lawyers in providing legal services to our wide variety of clients in the construction industry. CLG is looking for lawyers with experience in both residential and commercial construction matters and an in-depth knowledge of the QBCC Act, the BIF Act and Regulations, or the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge. With the Olympics around the corner we advising our clients on many exciting and rewarding projects.

Your work will include:
contract reviews and drafting, risk assessment for both residential and commercial construction projects and contract administration
advice on QBCC issues including complex licensing advices, internal and external reviews of QBCC decisions, advice on non-conforming building products, responding to notices regarding statutory breaches
advice under the BIF Act, including subcontractors’ charges and adjudication
dispute resolution on complex residential and commercial projects
representing clients in QCAT and the Courts
Required Qualifications
excellent analytical and communication skills
strong attention to detail and organisational skills
demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team
high-level problem-solving skills
admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia
a high level of integrity and professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing quality service to clients
experience in construction law is preferred but may not be essential for outstanding candidates
