Access to period products is a right, not a privilege.
Yet 1 in 5 Australians have been unable to afford them at some point in their lives.
At Construct Law Group, we believe in using our platform to support causes that matter. Since 2018, we’ve proudly supported Share the Dignity, a national charity working to end period poverty in Australia.
We’ve been proud supporters of Share the Dignity’s initiatives for 7 years, taking part in both of their key national campaigns. Every March and August, we participate in their Dignity Drive, collecting essential period products to help those who can’t afford them. Around Christmas, we also get behind Share the Dignity’s It’s in the Bag campaign. This initiative asks donors to fill a handbag with essential items (like hygiene products and everyday necessities) and a few thoughtful gifts, to bring a little joy to someone doing it tough during the holiday season.
What Is Period Poverty?
Period poverty is the lack of access to menstrual products, hygiene facilities, waste management, and education. It affects people who menstruate across all walks of life but particularly those experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, or financial hardship.
Without access to basic products like pads or tampons, many are forced to use unsuitable alternatives, miss work or school, or suffer in silence. The impact goes beyond physical discomfort, it affects confidence, dignity, and participation in everyday life.
Share the Dignity works to ensure that everyone who needs period products has access to them by distributing donated items to women’s shelters, charities, and community organisations across the country.
Their Dignity Drives take place in March and August, with collection points available nationwide. They accept a wide range of new, unopened items, including; pads, tampons, maternity pads, period undies, menstrual cups and incontinence products.

We believe no one should have to choose between buying food and buying period products. Through our ongoing participation, we aim to help reduce shame and stigma, and make a difference in people’s lives.
At Construct Law Group, we value equality, inclusion, compassion and empathy. Supporting Share the Dignity is one small way we can uphold those values and contribute to a more supportive community.
We encourage everyone to get involved in this month’s dignity drive and donate what they can. Together, we can help ensure that everyone has access to the products they need to manage their period with dignity.
