Aleisha MacKenzie

Aleisha MacKenzie is Construct Law Group’s Legal Practice Director and founded the firm in 2014.   Over the past decade, Aleisha has steered the strategic direction of the firm, all aspects of business development and the firms’ inclusive and supportive culture.  Aleisha speaks on legal and business-related topics and is passionate about educating stakeholders on their rights and obligations under construction law.

Aleisha has 20+ years’ post qualification experience as a building and construction lawyer, with experience in a number of jurisdictions, including Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales.

Aleisha provides practical and considered advice to all stakeholders in the construction industry on both residential and commercial projects including developers, principals, homeowners, builders, contractors and suppliers. Her current practice primarily involves dispute resolution, contract drafting, contract reviews and risk management.

She also provides advice to both contractors and homeowners on the application of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 and the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme (Home Warranty Insurance) as well as administrative review of decisions made by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC).

As a qualified adjudicator registered under the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017, Aleisha provides unique insight when advising clients in relation to progress claims, payments schedules and preparing adjudication applications and/or responses.

Aleisha is passionate about giving back to her community and to not-for profit organisations. She is a proud sponsor (through Construct Law Group) of many industry events and she is a strong advocate for inclusion and equality.
