David Thomas

David Thomas is a lawyer with 4 years’ of post-qualification experience in building and construction law. With a background as an electrician, he brings a unique perspective when advising our clients.

Prior to becoming a solicitor, David worked as an electrician. Following admission as a solicitor in Queensland, his construction background led him to pursue a career practising exclusively in building and construction law.

David has experience in both residential and commercial construction disputes. David regularly acts for and advises clients on their obligations and rights under the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 (Qld) particularly in relation to licensing requirements, defective works and the statutory insurance scheme. He also has worked on commercial disputes including making and responding to security of payment claims arising out of the New South Wales and Queensland Security of Payment legislation.

David provides advice and assistance to clients on all matters and scales of projects from the tender stage through to completion of a project.
